This section includes a number of procedures for helping you complete tasks in the system.

Note Most of these procedures require you to register in the system and log in. See To register in the system.

What do you want to do?

Log in to or log out of the system

The Log In Window is where you type in your user name and password to gain access to the system. Once you log in, you will go to your home page.

• To log in to the system.
• To log in to the system if you have forgotten your password.
• To log in to the system if you have forgotten your password and user name.
• To log out of the system.

Register in the system

Although you can do a simple search for current jobs without registering in the system, there are many benefits to registering:

• If you register, your search results will be MUCH more accurate.
• If you find a job you’re interested in, you still need to register in order to apply for it.
• Your job search information—your profile—will be saved so you can use that information the next time you search for a job here.
• Once you activate your profile, you are automatically considered for all current and future jobs for which you are a good match—even jobs you haven’t applied for!

• To perform a keyword search for a job title.
• To request notification when a new job is announced in a particular job classification.
• To register in the system.

• To modify skills associated with your profile.

Modify your profile

Once you register with the system, you can modify your profile as your skills change so you can be matched with all of the jobs you’re qualified to hold and interested in performing.

What do you want to do?

• To create your profile by selecting a job category.
• To modify your contact information.
• To add or modify your education information.
• To modify skills associated with your profile.
• To add or modify your work experience.

Check your job applications

You can see what’s happening with your applications at any point in the process. Are there any newly announced jobs you might want to apply for? Do you need to take a test to complete the application for a particular job? What is your current status for a particular job: eligible, being oral panel interviewed, etc.?
